  1. Hello fellow club members. My name is Roger. I dont think that I've officially introduced myself yet. I know I have not posted anything about my LI125. In September of 2016 I picked up my LI125. Almost 2 years to the day and I'm finally at a point where I can begin to work on it. In that two years I converted a carport into functioning shop, got my Lambretta licensed and also completed a heap of work on my 1964 Chevy C10 pickup project which filled just about every square inch of space in that carport. Not to mention the truck took most of my spare money too. But the 64 project is complete. Its been kicked outdoors and the scooter now has plenty of elbow room. Some of the obvious things are, broken fins on the fly wheel, scored cylinder walls and badly scratched piston. The clutch body was grinding away on the kick start arm too. All the cables are toast and some of the electrical needs to be reworked. The tins are in good shape. There are some lumps here and there, but they are not rusted or missing. I'm also very interested in visiting the Isle of Man any time of the year, but specifically during a motorcycle / scootering event. And the Isle of Wight, Brighton and the Goodwood Revival would be top of my list too. I'm into Ska and Northern Soul for those of you who dig the vintage scene. My goal is to make a British styled scooter that looks like it was built in the early 80's. I have much to learn and will probably change my mind as things proceed. But that's the general goal. As for the motor. I'm open to bumping up the power, but would like to keep things simple and reliable first and foremost. I'll post updates when they happen. Thanks for looking. Rog.
  2. The 2018 Lambretta Jamboree raffle bike build is currently underway. It started with a pre-mod Series 3 LI125 that had been sitting for quite a while. Build ideas were debated before deciding that a "Cascadia" themed scooter would be perfect for this Jamboree. Here is the scooter as the Seattle Crew picked her up. We'll add additional posts to update the progress. It's really an incredible process, and it couldn't be done without the support of (in no particular order) ScootersO Pacific Scooter Speed Jet 200 Performance Lambretta Concessionaires Piston Ported Andiamo Let's Go! Saints Cycle Works And all of the people who have volunteered their time wrenching the last few Sundays.
  3. Hi, new member here. For the back story, please check out my post in the "Show us your scoot" section. After being hit by a car that ran a red light, my Series 2 needs the following replacement body panels. Right side rear engine cover Right side rear floorboard Leg shield Front mudguard Headlight chrome trim Headlight reflector (maybe - I might be able to get the original re-chromed.) Other parts needed: Rear seat frame Front brake lever License plate bracket All leads and advise as to what to look for and what to avoid are greatly appreciated!
  4. I picked up this OG Series 2 LI125 last week from the guys at Gran Sport in Iowa. I picked it up explicitly for Corazzo so I left the side panels in their very capable hands so they can hand letter them for the biz. After getting it home, I started taking it apart as I am sending all the repainted parts back to Gran Sport to repaint. They are matching both the color and sheen for me along with doing any bodywork and repairs that are needed. I haven't decided what I am going to do about the motor yet. It is actually a runner so I may leave it or I might go through it and juice it up a bit. I don't actually have a stock engine in any of my Lambrettas but the threat of 125cc's of pure pooch S2 power might be enough to convince me to get out the check book. I'll try to keep this updated as the project progresses. The target is to have it done and rolling at the High Rollers rally this February, which should be pretty easy to do.
  5. So, back in November I bought my first Lambretta … and it happens to be a Lambretta in a box. I've been wanting a project bike for a while, so I guess I got one. I've owned a vintage scooter of the other Italian make since 2003 and know how risky it is to buy something like this. Especially since I've never owned a Lambretta before. But it seemed like a good deal, so I took my chances. wmccart actually found this one. He knew I was looking and told me about it. Thanks, wmccart! I've made quite a bit of progress, but I haven't been very good at taking pictures along the way. At this point, I've completely disassembled the engine and I'm going to send my cases off for vapor blasting this week. The body is ready to go to blasting, but I want to make sure I get the paint matched first before I send it off. Anyway, here are the a few pictures early on. I'll try and be better at taking more pictures from here on out. Here it is day one. I spent a lot of time trying to sort through all the parts. I think it's all there — at least all the major stuff. The previous owner was going to restore it, so he already bought a lot of extra parts, like 180 top end, a bigger carb, a big bore exhaust, etc. So I've got the original parts plus his upgrades, which is nice. I even have saddle seats and a dual seat. Not sure what these huge holes were for. It's a pity they are there. There are (were) some neat parking stickers on it. I tried to save them but they crumbled to pieces. Speedo rim was snapped. I'll have to see if I can fix that.
  6. I wanted to get some opinions on this. I've never ridden a Lammy so I have no baseline for comparison. Is it worth upgrading to the larger silentblocks and adding front dampers on an early s3 li125 that will have a 175 kit and a big bore exhaust? Sticky's suggests making these upgrades on tuned engines, but what constitutes a "tuned" engine?
  7. So it looks like my kickstart shaft has been rubbing against the clutch plate pretty badly. I read about this in Sticky's, but this is my first Lambretta so I've never dealt with this before. I'll be replacing the top plate, but does this kick start shaft need to be replaced? Has it's strength been compromised?
  8. Hello, I picked up a new scooter 1960 Li125. It has not run for 10 years and is in rough shape. Going through the receipts it had an engine rebuild done in '96 at West Coast Lambretta. Anyway, the compression is good, put in a new plug, cleaned the carb, but no gas was flowing. I thought the fuel lever was a bit too easy to turn. Sure enough the valve was seized and the key part sheared off inside, both key ends are busted. Probably the reason the bike had been sitting ever since. Might be wishful thinking, but can you get parts to rebuild this original OMG valve? Is it even original to the bike and worth fixing? Cheers, Morgan
