  1. I bought this heavy duty steel one (pictured): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002MGKN2A/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It worked great but was too heavy and dumped the back of my car such that I often would scrape coming in and out of driveways. I recently sold it and got a lighter-weight aluminum one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001IUV1CM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Works fine... does not scrape.
  2. Hi Jim, you need to give the route public access.

Nice spot to choose! love it.

    Many thanks

      Just fixed it... try again.

  3. Here's a sample map of a possible Lammy Jammy route from SF to Santa Cruz: https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?hl=en&authuser=0&mid=1XCjHpQncoiGy_LAPFtq43VW1Tw4&ll=37.41853019184508%2C-121.97608661193851&z=10 Route is all side streets and back country roads, no freeways. Ride across a dam on a scenic reservoir. Plenty of twisty roads up in the Santa Cruz Mountains under a canopy of redwood trees. Includes a mid-point gas and lunch stop in Portola Valley at the historic Alpine Inn Beer Garden: http://www.sfgate.com/restaurants/article/Legendary-watering-hole-Alpine-Inn-Beer-Garden-8329923.php
  4. I can offer my place in San Mateo as a rally point and assist with plotting a route to Santa Cruz from here. Good central meeting spot for SF and Oakland to combine before heading for the hills. Gas nearby.
  5. Committee meeting to determine the location of the 2018 Lammy Jammy.
  6. Rally pack purchased, scooter transportation secured, flight booked. I'll be in Duluth representing for San Francisco. Looking forward to my first Lammy Jammy experience... and meeting all you crazy club members. Cheers! - JP
  7. For me, the antidote to bad and/or overplayed 70s music was to tune in to the sound of Jamaica. The decade starts with the rocksteady era... the heart and soul of reggae Followed by the roots revolution and the emergence of dub and dancehall Reggae goes international, spawning the birth of the two tone movement at the end of the decade So much amazing music from such a tiny island. I'd be willing to bet more musical talent per square mile than anywhere else on the planet.
  8. Bello Moto in SF has one... just arrived from Italy... I saw it a few days ago.
  9. Thanks everyone for the good advice.... much appreciated. See you at the event!
  10. OK ... Looks like I will be heading to my first scooter rally in a few weeks... Rides of March in San Luis Osbispo, CA. I wonder if any other club members are going? Also, any advice for a newbie like me on how to have a successful rally? In particular I am wondering about: Checklist of what to have in my glovebox and what else to bring along in the car What sort of support is available for riders in case of mechanical or other problems on the road, etc. General rally etiquette Thanks in advance for any tips! PS - The recent thread about how to safely tie down/transport your bike was super helpful and timely. - JP
  11. Thanks a million for this info. I just bought a sport rack this week (similar to yours, NTXLammy) and I had no idea about the handlebar tie down safety issue. So glad I read this post before I tried to haul my bike anywhere. Oh, and also really glad I joined this club! - JP
