That looks to be identical to the ceramic we use in Oz, it is amazing and resistant to everything. You'll find a drop of "Brasso" or similar brass polish will make it gleam and will remove even blackened burned on oil if such a thing occurs. the only downside is, that it is totally inflexible and a surprisingly thick coat. Did you dry build them to check the fit first?

Today I registered my LI 150 ser 2 I bought from Joseph86. Stan brought it down for me from Tenn to Fl to the Rust in the Sun Rally. It went straight into my truck and right to DMV this am.

Thanks Joseph and Stan! Nice to have another legal running scoot!

I learned some tricks for porting an intake manifold from my old timer machinist (hint, air likes to flow in a straight line and can be at different speeds with in the manifold).

Yuuuupers

the walls along the intake manifold from A to B should be parallel... if they are not then the mixture won't flow at a consistent rate.

Sort of. More to do with boundary layer.

Actually, if you know what you are doing you can solve some flow problems by doing that. You'd need a flow bench to see how things like bumps and valleys change things. Cool stuff.

Yeah.. I don't have a flow bench.. I'm just trying to use common sense and imagine I'm the air/fuel mix.. and where I'd want to go.. I think it's worked so far.   In the case of the LTH manifold, I'm pretty much just cleaning it up, not reinventing the wheel w/ this one.

... Spider.. yeah, that golf ball stuff is cool too... dimples and all. but dimples don't work on everything.. it depends on the shape of the object, speed it travels, wake it produces etc..  beyond my pay grade.

Tried fitting a part that wouldn't fit and is made of cheese. Can someone make a decent quality dust cap for AF/AFR flywheels?

Sold a batch of parts and two scooters for rock bottom prices so it would all go away in one transaction without having to box up anything! Also loaded up an SS180,the second to last V3$p@ I will ever bring home (anyone have an SS90 real or replica for sale?) so I will never have to V3$p@ shop again?

Just went on a group ride... great ride down to Long Beach got caught in 20 miles of p-ssing rain on the way home.. not the funnest riding in the rain.. especially since it hasn't rained in a long time and the roads were bleeding oil.. slick slick slick..  We just putted along in as straight a line as possible. Oh.. and WINDY too!

... then built another PWK jetting kit to go w/ my Jet.. appropriate needles, idle jets, main jets, needle shims, needle clips, float needle and slide spring clip.

I finally cracked the cases of my series 2 to fix a stubborn leak and an even more stubborn kickstart ramp that's been out of adjustment. Turns out my rear clubman exhaust bracket broke off and has been causing a nice rattle. Tomorrow I'll decoke the top end and double check everything for summer riding.

.. took a picture of my favorite oil cup with my iphone and a Maglite... I've had it 20 years, use it all the time, treat it really roughly and it just keeps working..  ;)

I want to make a poster to hang in my office and maybe a T-shirt.

After the dentist.. I took the Jet out to plug chop my main jet.. I used 3rd gear (I'm actually going to do it again tomorrow, as I wasn't TRULY wide open) but I'm getting a good idea.. and I'm really pleased..  I'll probably end up going down one size on the main.. but it was running well.

Here's a little video clip Jimmy shot from the side of the road:

It's a great strip of road for doing some tuning.
