1958 Lambretta TV175 Series 1 restoration

Recommended Posts

This is another restoration we took up this past spring summer.  I was commissioned by my buddy Paul B. in Portland to bring his TV1 back to the original color.  Paul and I both have been into the Scootering hobby since the late 80's.  He bought his TV1 in 1997 from the original owners in Colville Utah.  He rebuilt it at that time and did a DIY paint job on it.  Later down the road he sold it to a friend.  Fortunately as fate would have it he acquired it back from his buddy.

He rode it for a while and then decided he wanted it the original color.  So I disassembled the bike and got it ready to be blasted.  My painter did the paint and body work.  I helped Paul assemble some of the bike and he handled the rest.  It came out really nice.  We used Rocker Shultz for the under coating per specific to the TV's .  Also, helped him sort out some electrical issues he had with his rectifier/regulator.  Finally, I had a chance to pop over and get the final pictures of it done after picking up paint from my supplier for another restoration.  Ironically, during this time I acquired a TV1 as well which turned out to be 1535 numbers away from each other at the factory....So on with the pics!

one side of the leggy floor was Swiss cheese so we cut it out and replaced with a handmade panel.

his bike always sat uneven.  Turned out the strut was broken off the frame.  we reinforced both sides.

Finally had a chance a few weeks ago to get the final pics. We were waiting on the legshield TV175 badge and finally got it installed. Here she is all done up:

It was a great journey and another Lambretta to it's original glory!
