Members in Atlanta?

Recommended Posts

Hi All:

Just curious about LCUSA members in the greater Atlanta, GA area. It'd be nice to organize some rides and etc.

Cheers,

Scott

I'm in the city, though I'm in the middle of a rebuild. There is a local group, but not a lot of lambrettas.

Gotta change that!

Yes, most are V3$p@s or Tupperware. Nice folks and fun to ride with, but would really like to organize and promote the hobby. Let me know how your rebuild is coming along

I am in Loganville, just passed Snellville and am up for a ride though I am a couple of weeks away from finishing my Jet200.

I have a friend close by who is new to the area who has a TV175, and know he is up for a ride!. He is yet to join LCUSA, but will be doing so shortly!

Sounding off.  Newly rebuilt Jet200 here in ATL, in the Emory University area.  Would love to participate in something local that is Lambretta specific. Was told last year by my buddy Matt (Lambretta specialist here in ATL) that he knows of only 5 or 6 running Lammys in the North Georgia area.  If that's accurate we're going to have a pretty small group, but would still be cool.

Is there any info published about the Chattanooga rally yet?  I'd love to know dates/times/locations of the events so I can make some plans.  Looking forward to that one.

Scott, what part of town are you in?

Several years back a club we formed a club call "Untouchables SC" for vintage scooters only, most of the members were Lambretta owners. We had several meetings, and even got a club badge each, but never really did anything together and do not believe we rode together. I for one would like to see this club get resurrected!!

I like all of this.

1) Geoff, I am from Loganville, believe it or not.  I think I may have reached out to you a few years ago when I was surprised there was another vintage scooterist from out there.

2) Ironhalo, I live in the Emory area.

3) I now have new motivation to get the rebuild finished for the Atlanta Rally.  Kieran, when is the Chattanooga Rally this year?  Before the Atlanta one, right?  Might be cutting it close.

Would love to get an LCUSA contingent in town for rides, etc.

SC? South Carolina?

Nice, had no idea there was another Lammy in the neighborhood.  Would like to come by and see your rebuild in progress at some point.  I'm riding all around the area once or twice a week at least.

Agreed, even a minuscule in town contingent would be cool.

Hi All, looks like we have some Lambretta stalwarts in and around Atlanta after all!

Ironhalo, I live in the Northlake/Decatur area just a bit north of Emory.

I also casually know of an additional five or so Lambretta owners in town, just not certain they are LCUSA members (yet).

There is a vintage car exhibit at the High museum, and this Friday (08/01) it's called "drafts and dream cars."  Here's a link:

http://www.high.org/.../Drafts-and-Dream-Cars-08012014.aspx

There are some scooterists riding out for this, and if any of you are interested/available, perhaps we could meet there, or some other time and location that's convenient?

Oh, and the name of the rally on Sept 12-14 is Hill on Wheels - it's the Deals Gap road, which is apparently windy and fun. I'm going for certain.

Damn, tied up tomorrow, can't make the High.  Been meaning to go see that vintage car exhibit though, looks really cool.

Also just found out that I may be out of town for the Sept 12-14 rally in TN.  Even more bummed about that, really wanted to do that one. Will definitely be in town for the ATL rally though.

Scott and Geoff, I'll PM you and maybe we can put something together.

Looks like the High may be rained out for a ride - look forward to hearing from you guys.

Just for future reference, we might be able to meet up in Tucker at some point as well - a place called enzo's and a place called local 7, and it looks equidistant for logan/Snellville and emory

Dunno if he's still a member, but Rob Downs was one of the club originals, and he's in ATL.  I don't think he rides much these days.  Raising 2 young kids will do that to you.

Scott have not met you yet! Atlanta (Inman Park) TV175 owner here.

My TV keeps fouling the spark plugs. It is probably time for a rebuild since the case has never been opened.

As long as you all don't leave me I am game.

Can someone send me a link to the Ocoee ride? I grew up in that area and it proves there is a god.

I guess I'm one of the old-time members based here in Atlanta. I'm in the Decatur area and have a TV200, SX200 and a TV175, all series 3. Rob is still around but his bikes are in parts. Mark Lee has a nice original SX200. Mark , myself and few others started up the Untouchables Scooter Club but we kinda lost interest. Too many twist n scoots in the city...and been a bit too busy with work. That said, I'm hoping to attend Hill on Wheels in Chattanooga and the Atlanta rallies.

Wow, had no idea there were that many Lammys in my hood!  Super cool.  Would love to see your bikes at some point, TV1.  Have yet to see a TV200 in person.
